I had the great fortune of being recognized as a Forbes Under 30 Scholar this past October, which meant I was selected as one of 1000 students out of 20,000 applications to attend the 2019 Forbes Under 30 Summit in Detroit Oct 26-30th. I recognize my privilege in being able to attend this event, I wanted to democratize/decentralize my learnings.
I put together a presentation on my takeaways & key quotes from the Forbes Under 30 Summit here:
My main takeaways from the event were:
- recouple my personal & professional selves by using radical transparency to share my narrative
- i belong in this investing room, even if i feel impostor syndrome sometimes (everyone feels that way at some point)
- recognizing the innate humanity in people, regardless of their status/celebrity *everyone puts their pants on the same way in the mornings
Special thanks to Forbes & the SDSU Lavin Entrepreneurship Center for sponsoring my trip to Detroit to attend this event!
